The area where Naukluft campsite is located was created as a sanctuary for the Hartmann's mountain zebra, an animal endemic to Namibia. Other wildlife in the are include kudu, gemsbok, klipspringer, duiker, steenbok, leopard, baboon, black-backed jackal, bat-eared fox, African wildcat, caracal and aardwolf. The are is also home to various bird species including the black eagle.
Accommodation at the camp consits of 10 campsites set in a gorge alongside a dry riverbed. Each campsite has a barbeque area, a waterpoint and there is an ablutions block.
Activities that guests can partake in include hiking trails, nature walks, bird watching and 4x4 trails. There is also a swimming pool to help guests cool off on those hot days.
