About

Mowani mountain camp is situated in Namibia's Damaraland area and has thatched dome-shaped structures. It lies between the Ugab and Huab rivers. The word Mowani is derived from the word M'Wane which means 'Place of God' and this is reflected in the atmosphere of tranquility at the camp.

The main part of the camp consists of the reception area, a bar, dining room and a lounge overlooking the waterhole.

Accommodation at the lodge consists of six standard rooms, six view rooms,a luxury room, mini-suite and a suite. The standard rooms have valley views and each unit is equipped with an en-suite bathroom and are decorate in an East African style. There are individual decks from which guests can enjoy the amazing view. The view rooms have en-suite bathrooms and twin beds. The luxury room is in a west facing thatched rondavel and has an en-suite bathroom and a double bed. The mini-suite is a double room and has an en-suite bathroom, mini-bar and laundry service. The suite at the lodge is a spacious double room and an amazing vantage point. The en-suite bathroom includes an indoor bathroom and open-air 'bush' bathroom with a bath. Dinner can be served on the suite's private balcony by an actual butler, this would be perfect for honeymooners. There is also a television set with DStv, a music center, a mini-bar and laundry service.

Activities that can be enjoyed in the area include excursions to view the rock engravings at Twyfelfontein, morning nature drives where guests could spot the desert-adapted elephant or the black rhino or walking trails between the boulders and mopane trees in the valley below the ledge, hikers are taken to a small waterhole and a viewpoint. Other attractions in the area include the Burnt Mountain and the Organ Pipes.
