Heja Game lodge
is situated east of Windhoek and is enclosed by the Auas mountains in the south
and the Khomas Hochland and Eros mountains to the north and west respectively.
It is ideally located midpoint between Windhoek and the Hosea Kutako
International Airport. The lodge overlooks the Hoffnung dam which just happens
to be the oldest man-made lake in Namibia.
A large variety
of bird life can be found in the vicinity of the lodge and over 2500 head form
13 different species of game roam the 20000 hectare farm and its surrounding
areas. The lodge offers 50 en-suite bedrooms with air conditioning and
satellite television and the restaurant offers an a la carte menu with a
variety of dishes, with game dishes being the speciality. The lodge also has
conference facilites available and caters such functions as well as other
functions for up to 300 people.
The rooms at the
lodge include 44 standard rooms, all solar powered for the eco conscious guest
and 6 luxury bungalows. Standard rooms include 2 single beds, air conditioning,
mini safe for valuables, satellite television as well as wifi connectivity. The
luxury rooms include 2 single beds, air conditioning, a mini safe, satellite
television, a lounge corner as well as free wifi connectivity.
Activities that
can be enjoyed at the lodge include bird watching, horse riding, game drives as
well as walking trails.
