NAKARA was founded in 1980 by Kevin Davidow. In the early years of production concentrated on Swakara garments of the local and the South African industry. In the mid-eighties NAKARA started processing Swakara skins in Namibia (formerly all skins were processed in Germany and France) and then started manufacturing and exporting for international designers, according to their design and choice of colour.
