Set near the 17 Makalani Palms, Palm Community Camp is a true oasis in the barren rock strewn Etendeka plain. It offers four clean campsites, each with their own braai (barbeque) area, welcoming shade and a well kept ablution block with clean flushing toilets and warm showers.
The oasis attracts few animals which endure the arid environment. Giraffe come down to drink, elephants sometimes pass by and lions have also been seen. The greenery and water attracts many special birds. The camp is under the management of a family, who run it on behalf of the community. The manager is a knowlegable and helpful person.
This is a true wilderness stopover before the long 100km stretch to Sesfontein.
