About

Bwabwata National Park is 6100 square kilometres in size and was proclaimed a national park in 2007. It features low vegetated sand dunes with old drainage lines in between Okavango River in the west and the Kwando River to the east.

Vegetation is made up of broad leafed Kalahari woodland with trees such as, but not limited, to the Zambezi teak and false Mopane.

Wildlife is made of large concentration of elephant and buffalo with main predators as lion, leopard, hyena and cheetah; it is also one of the last refuge of the wild dog in Namibia. Most tourism facilities are outside the park and operated by private owners offering trips into the park.
