Reports to: Senior: Internal Audit

The Purpose of the Job:
To conduct risk based information systems audits, assess new information systems, upgrades and their impact and report back to aid management decision-making.

Key Performance Areas:

• Conduct risk-based audits as per internal audit annual plan and provide comprehensive reports of the various functions audited;
• Assist in other audit activities that may arise within GIPF or that are required within the audit function;
• Assist in conducting forensic investigations that may arise;
• Conduct risk-based information systems audits;
• Assist in developing information systems audit methodology and procedures;
• Conduct assessments on new IS systems and upgrades;
• Assess specific information systems and associate business procedures;
• Provide consulting services;
• Provide risk-based internal audit services as per annual audit plan;
• Provide audit assistance for risk management services;
• Provide audit assistance to forensic and financial audits;
• Maintain audit efficiencies and services levels;
• Provide audit report feedback to various stakeholders via the head of department.

Job-related Qualifications and Experience
• A bachelor’s degree in Internal Auditing, Accounting or Finance;
• At least 5 years’ experience in auditing with at least 1 year within an information system audit environment
• Information systems risk identification skills.
•Registered member with the IIA and/ or ISACA
•Drivers’ licence

The incumbent should have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

Knowledge of:
Audit reporting, financial analysis, corporate governance, financial regulations and operational control measures, standards and guidelines, fraud and what constitutes fraud, risk assessments, IIAPPF, GAAP and IFRS, information systems audit, information systems functionalities and procedures, audit software, MS Office, CAAT’s (e.g. ACL), GIPF investment policies and procedures.

Skills and Abilities:
Advising, audit administration, budgeting, conflict resolution, evaluation, feedback, interpersonal, listening, presentation, report writing and computer literacy, decision-making and financial skills.
