HUMAN RESOURCES PRACTITIONER
This position reports to the Finance Manager and requires a strong individual with
exposure to HR, and IR. The well-spoken and presented individual who is fluent in English
(additional languages will be an advantage) and has excellent knowledge of HR and IR
legislation. Applications from previously disadvantaged persons are encouraged. A fair
amount of traveling will be necessary to visit various operations. The practitioner will be
employed by Gecko Namibia (Pty) Ltd based at the coast.
Main Responsibilities:• Develop and implement Group HR policies and procedures
• Manage Industrial Relations
• Provide specialized HR and IR advice
• Assist with Union Dealings and Negotiations
• Maintain good relations with relevant Government stakeholders
• Compliance with all statutory requirements for the Gecko Group
• Assist with HR/IR related legal matters
Candidate Requirements:• Degree in Human Resources Management or relevant tertiary qualification
• A minimum of 8-10 years solid experience as a Human Resources Manager is essential,
preferable in a large mining/exploration environment
• Computer literate in MS Word, Excel, MS Outlook, PowerPoint
• Organizational awareness by demonstrating knowledge of policy, procedures and
discipline
• Working knowledge of relevant legislation impacting on business
• Highly motivated, energetic, self-starter who has the ability to be proactive
• Can act independently on own initiative and have the ability to work well under pressure
• Be a team player
• Has excellent planning, organizing and controlling skills and proven ability to meet all
deadlines
• An excellent communicator who can positively influence and persuade people at all levels
• Ability to build trust and rapport with employees and managers
• A highly confidential person with sound judgment and decisiveness – High level of
