CAREER OPPORTUNITY

A unique career opportunity to a highly talented individual to join
the management team. This role reports to the Chief Financial
Officer and forms an integral member of the management team
and has overall responsibility for the financial and risk management
function of Santam Namibia Limited.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Sound management of the on-going financial controls,
information systems, processes, accounting and reporting
function.
• Good analytical, qualitative and decision making skills.
• Effectively manage, guide and motivate a large finance
department and contribute to a positive team spirit in order to
achieve business and strategic objectives.
• Development and management of people.
• Manage cost efficiency and processes.
• Understanding market profiles (segments) in order to develop
best solutions.
• Budget compilation and review.
• Annual Financial Statements preparation.
• Quarterly financial reporting to board and regulator.
• Treasury and working capital management.
• External audit coordination and internal audit overview.
• Monthly financial reporting to management.
• Providing commercial support/ input to the Namibian leadership
team.
• Working closely with the Company Secretary and CFO, ensuring
compliance with relevant regulatory requirements such as the
Companies Act, Tax acts and Namibian legal requirements.
• Articulate and confident presentation skills.
• Ability to prioritise and manage time.
• Interpersonal relations and excellent communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• A CA or equivalent and professionally registered with an
accredited body.
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate
regulations in Namibia.
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of the IFRS and the
application thereof.
• Proven experience of developing and implementing an effective
financial control environment within a significantly sized
business/organization.
• Self-starter with initiative and ability to operate in a dynamic
environment.
• Ability to contribute as part of the senior management team,
through effective business planning, analysis, financial
planning, budget management and performance appraisal;
• Experience of influencing management and developing a team
of highly dedicated and experienced finance professionals.
• Networked in the industry.
• The ability to communicate effectively and fluently in English.

KNOWLEDGE

• Knowledge, understanding and experience of the short-term
insurance industry.
• High level of understanding and operating of Microsoft Excel
financial functionalities.
