QUALITY ASSURANCE COORDINATOR
[PROCESSING PLANT / QUALITY ASSURANCE]

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Implement and Maintain the HACCP/ISO 22000 and various contracted Food
Safety systems within the Company. Carry out internal and external audits including
required corrective actions by all departments and suppliers. Monitor all raw
material suppliers within the specified Food Safety System program requirements.

KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain and continuously develop the Process Plant HACCP/ISO 22000 and
contracted Food Safety Systems
• Maintain and/or update Food Safety Management systems documentation
• Regularly conduct internal plant audits
• Liaise with line management on all non-conformances and corrective action
required
• Assist the QA Manager with follow-up and feedback on product returns and
customer complaints
• Monitor Raw Materials intake and Suppliers including handling of nonconformances
• Conduct in-house training of HACCP / ISO / Food Safety Management /
Quality Control related issues
• Analyze Production Records and QA statistics to identify areas to add value
• Monitor external contracted Cleaning and Pest Control contractors including
handling of non-conformances
• Implement and ensure product specifications are adhered to
• Daily on-line supervision of QA Monitors and Meat Inspection Points

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETANCIES
• Grade 12 (NQF level 4)
• PME / PMI Qualification (Compulsory)
• VACCP & TACCP Training will be an added advantage
• Internal / External FSMS Audit Training / Qualifications
• National Diploma in Food Technology or alternatively Environmental Health,
BSc Microbiology, or recognized equivalent (Compulsory)
• Five (5) – Ten (10) years’ experience in FMCG food processing and
manufacturing environment
• Proven supervisory skills within a FMCG food processing and manufacturing
environment
• Extensive background in implementation and maintenance of HACCP/ISO
22000 and other Food Safety systems
• Poultry Meat Examiner / Inspector certificate highly advantageous
• Fully computer literate with high proficiency in WORD and EXCEL
• Valid driver`s license (Code BE)
• Namibian citizen OR eligible to become a Namibian citizen
• Proficient in English, being bilingual will be advantageous
