MYNA2182 NationalDiscover the highlights Namibia. You will visit the
beautiful Kalahari Desert, the gigantic Fish River Canyon, the hardy Namib
Desert, the coastline, the ancient art of the local people and Namibia’s unique
wildlife.
Day 1: Airport – Windhoek
Arrive in Windhoek. Spend the day at leisure by visiting the
historical features like the ‘Christuskirche’ the most prominent church in
Windhoek and the Parliamentary building or go shopping in the lively city
centre of Windhoek.

Day 2: Windhoek – Kalahari
Your journey leads you into the centre of the Kalahari
Desert via Rehoboth and Kalkrand. You will be able to take part on an optional
guided scenic drive through the red sand dune landscape on the ranch.
Overnight at the Kalahari Anib Lodge
Day 3: Kalahari – Fish River Canyon
After breakfast drive via Mariental and Keetmanshoop to the
Fish River Canyon. En route you can visit the Quivertree Forest near
Keetmanshoop.

Day 4: Fish River Canyon
Visit the Fish River Canyon, a spectacular natural
phenomenon. From the different view points you have the chance to get a feeling
of the enormity of the second largest canyon in the world.

Day 5: Fish River Canyon – Lüderitz
Drive via Seeheim and Aus towards the coastal town of
Lüderitz. If you are lucky, you will see the wild horses of the Namib Desert.
These horses adapted to the harsh circumstances of the rugged desert. End off
the day by taking a walk through the historic town of Lüderitz.

Day 6: Lüderitz
Explore the harbour town and the surrounding area today. You
can drive to the ancient diamond ghost town Kolmanskop or travel along the
coastline to visit the Diaz Point and the bays along the way. In town you can
go to the museum, the Goerke House or the ‘Felsenkirche’. Do you maybe want to
book a guided tour to the Rock Arch or visit Elisabeth Bay in the restricted
diamond area? What about a boat cruise to a penguin island?

Day 7: Lüderitz – Sossusvlei Region
Your journey leads you back to the interior of Namibia.
Drive via Aus
into the direction of Sesriem to reach the lodge nearby
whilst driving along stunning landscape. En route you can visit the Duwisib
Castle which was built in the middle of no where.
Overnight at the Hoodia Desert Lodge
Day 8: Sossusvlei
Explore the Sossusvlei, surrounded by the world’s highest
dunes, today in the early morning. Experience the colour change of the dunes as
the bountiful sunshine passes over them. Visit some more sight sighing areas
such as the Dead Vlei as well as Dune 45 and the Sesriem Canyon.

Day 9: Sossusvlei – Swakopmund
Once again the route leads you to the coast of Namibia.
Drive via Solitaire through the barren Namib Desert with its unique eco-system.
You can visit the ancient Welwitschia plants and the moonlandscape.

Day 10: Swakopmund
Enjoy the day by either having a stroll along the beach,
visit the Crystal Gallery exhibiting many of Namibia’s precious stones and
crystals, the Swakopmund museum or go shopping in the city centre. What about
going on a boat cruise on the Walvis Bay lagoon just 35 km south of Swakopmund
to explore the marine life and having fresh oysters with sparkling wine? You
can book scenic flights to see the Sossusvlei or the Skeleton Coast from a
bird’s eyes view. You can also visit the aquarium.

Day 11: Swakopmund - Twyfelfontein
Leave Swakopmund and drive to the Damaraland via the
fishers’ town Henties Bay and Uis to Twyfelfontein. Use the opportunity to
visit one of Africa’s biggest seal colonies at Cape Cross north of Henties Bay.
You will pass the Brandberg en route, which is the highest mountain in Namibia.

Day 12: Twyfelfontein – Etosha National Park
Explore the vicinity of Twyfelfontein with its rock
engravings and paintings, the Organpipes and the Burt Mountain. Drive to the
guest farm via Khorixas and Outjo. En route you can stop at the Petrified
Forest for a visit.
Overnight at the Vreugde Guest Farm
Day 13: Etosha National Park
Go on a game drives into the Etosha National Park to explore
the abundant African wildlife.
Overnight at the Vreugde Guest Farm
Day 14: Etosha National Park
Enjoy some more game-viewing whilst driving towards the
eastern part of the park. Drive to the lodge just outside the National Park.

Day 15: Etosha National Park
Spend the day with game viewing in the Etosha National Park.

Day 16: Etosha National Park – Frans Indongo Lodge
The journey leads you to the Frans Indongo Lodge just north
of Otjiwarongo. Leave Onguma and drive via Tsumeb, a mining town, and Otavi
into the direction of Otjiwarongo. Take part on an optional game drive at the
Frans Indongo Lodge which gives you a good introduction to the area you are
visiting.

Day 17: Frans Indongo Lodge
Enjoy the day at the lodge and relax.

Day 18: Frans Indongo - Windhoek - Airport
Today you depart from the lodge and drive via Otjiwarongo
and Okahandja to Windhoek and then to the airport for your flight home.
