Junior Microbiologist
An excellent career opportunity exists for
interested and qualified candidates to apply for the
above mentioned position at Feedmaster (Pty) Ltd,
Okapuka.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Responsible to assist the Senior Laboratory Analyst
with the testing of products at the Laboratory.

KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Performing various Microbiological techniques: e.g.
Sampling, streaking, inoculation, dilution, membrane
filtration and staining.
• Environmental Monitoring: air plates, settle plates
and swabs.
• Isolation and identification of various Pathogens.
• Preparing buffer solutions and different media etc.
• Ensure correct procedures are followed as specified.
• Timeous reporting on all testing results.
• Accurate recordkeeping of all tests performed and
related actions take.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION
• Degree/Diploma in Microbiology/ Food Technology
• Degree/Diploma in Biochemistry/Chemistry will be
an advantage
• Grade 12 (NQF 4)
• Minimum of (two) 2 years’ working experience
• Knowledge of ISO 17025 Quality Management
System(s) and SANAS documentation
• Experience in a SANAS accredited lab will be an
advantage
• Proficient in written and spoken English
• Namibian citizen
