Purpose of position:
Achieves and exceeds agreed sales targets in existing product lines and keeps or improves sales and merchandising standards laid down by principal

Key Accountabilities:
  • Negotiates profitable deals on existing and new product lines with buyers at shops
  • Negotiates discounts, shelf space, promotions and gondolas
  • Ensures products are correctly displayed at point of sale
  • Maintains shelf space as per laid down standards
  • Ensures all PLU labels are displayed correctly and that the information displayed is correct
  • Build promotional displays, gondola ends, special bins, etc. as per instruction from Sales manager
  • Build relationships with shop managers
  • Continuously prepares picking lists and keeps track of what has been picked
  • Ensure that merchandisers are motivated and does training when needed
  • Sorts, verifies and submits claims to expedite process. Recommends reversals as required
  • Ensures that stock rotation principles are adhered to

Qualifications, Experience and skills:
  • Grade 12 and three years’ experience in FMCG
  • Fluency in Afrikaans and English
  • Proficiency in an indigenous language will be a definite advantage
  • Be able to handle pressure and conflict situations
  • Have good communication skills
  • Be friendly, punctual, reliable and presentable
  • Have good interpersonal skills and be able to work independently
  • Valid passport and police clearance certificate
  • Namibian citizenship
