TRAINING OFFICER: DIESELELECTRICAL
CENTRE: WINDHOEK
GRADING LEVEL: C3
DEPARTMENT: HUMAN CAPITAL


PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To provide theoretical and practical apprenticeships to Diesel-
Electrical trainees and other personnel in the Mechanical
Engineering Division to ensure that the required competencies
needed to attain the Company’s objectives and individual career
development are attained.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Grade 12 plus a Trade Certificate/ Diploma in Diesel-Electrical
Mechanics or equivalent qualification
• Five years practical experience as a qualified Diesel-Electrical
Fitter in a Locomotive workshop
• Practical working knowledge of repair and maintenance of
locomotives and their components
• Repair and maintenance skills, presentation skills, good
communication (verbal & written), good interpersonal,
analytical and computer literacy skills
• Self-starting initiatives, emotional maturity, self-control,
assertiveness, time management, independent and reliable

• Training needs analysis
• Course/ program design
• Course/ program presentation
• Course/ program evaluation and follow up
• Training administration



TRAINING OFFICER:
ELECTRICAL
CENTRE: WINDHOEK
GRADING LEVEL: C3
DEPARTMENT: HUMAN CAPITAL

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To provide theoretical and practical training to Apprentice
Electricians and technical personnel in the Electrical Division
to ensure that the required competencies needed to attain the
Company’s objectives and individual career development are
attained.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Grade 12 with Mathematics, Science & English as passed
subjects plus a Trade Certificate in Electrician General or
equivalent qualification
• Five years practical experience as an Electrician General with
high voltage experience
• Practical & theoretical knowledge of heavy current, high
tension, air-conditioning & refrigeration and electronics
• Electrical skills, presentation skills, good communication
(verbal & written), good interpersonal skills, fault analysis and
computer literacy skills
• Self-starting initiatives, emotional maturity, self-control,
assertiveness, time management, independent and reliable

• Administrative duties



TRAINING OFFICER: MOTOR
MECHANICS
CENTRE: WINDHOEK
GRADING LEVEL: C3
DEPARTMENT: HUMAN CAPITAL


PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To provide theoretical and practical apprenticeships to Auto/
Diesel Mechanic trainees and other personnel in the Mechanical
Engineering Division to ensure that the required competencies
needed to attain the Company’s objectives and individual career
development are attained.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Grade 12 plus a Trade Certificate/ Diploma in Auto/ Diesel
Mechanics or equivalent qualification
• Five years practical experience a qualified Auto/ Diesel
Mechanics in a heavy motor vehicle workshop
• Practical working knowledge of light and heavy motor vehicles
(trucks, trails, tankers)
• Code CE driver’s license
• Auto/ Diesel mechanic and presentation skills, good
communication (verbal & written), good interpersonal relation
skills, analytical and computer literacy skills
• Self-starting initiatives, emotional maturity, self-control,
assertiveness, time management, independent and reliable

TRAINING SCHEME

The following Trainee Scheme is available for the year 2018
• APPRENTICE DIESEL ELECTRICAL FITTER


Training:

The trainees will attend a three (3) year training programme consisting
of theoretical and practical training at TransNamib Holdings Limited
Centre: Windhoek

Qualifications:
Must have completed Grade 12 certificate with Mathematics, Science
and English, with a minimum of C Ordinary Level (NSSCO) or 3
Higher Level (NSSCH) symbol in each of the aforementioned subjects.
