About

Our guest farm is situated on the cattle farm Hohenfels, which is in possession of the family Duke zu Bentheim Tecklenburg-Rheda since 1903. Duke Richard Friederich bought the farm from the German Colony after he had completed his service in Sumatra, where he had been sent due to connections with the Dutch Royal Family. He named it Hohenfels, “high rock”, for the mountain which guards the homestead. In the year 1904, the Duke, who was widely known and admired for his impeccable good manners, built the farmhouse and the stables which today house the young family with their three boys and our breakfast room respectively.

The cattle farm is still managed by the zu Bentheim family, while the guest farm belongs to Mark and Nadia zu Bentheim and their parents Sabine and Alex Ruegg. Together with the rest of the Weaver’s Rock Team, we want to make your stay a memorable one. Experience life on a farm in Namibia and enjoy the vistas which nature presents to us every day. Come with time, relax and re-energize in the serenity and quietness of our tranquil surrounding. We speak English, German, Afrikaans, Swiss German and a little French, Spanish and Italian. Team Weaver’s Rock and our special diplomatic envoy, Goerie the Meerkat, look forward to welcome you.
