The name Tsumeb is derived from the Hain//om Bushman word 'Tsomsoub', which menas 'to dig a big hole in loose ground', and (Otjiherero name: Okavisume) is a city of +20,000 inhabitants and the largest town in Oshikoto region in northern Namibia. Tsumeb is the "gateway to the north" of Namibia
