Hoodia Desert Lodge is situated on the banks of the Tsauchab river and is about 22km from the Sesriem entrance to Sossusvlei. 'Hoodia' are a group of succulent plants which are traditionally used by the San people as an appetite suppressant, thirst quencher and a cure for sever abdominal cramps and other ailments.
Accommodation at the lodge consists of 12 single or double luxury tented bungalows. All bungalows are equipped with a private open-air en-suite bathroom, air-conditioning, tea/coffee station, in-room safe as well as a shaded porch from which guests can indulge in a bit of stargazing.
Sundowners and nightcaps can be enjoyed by guests in the bar with its pool deck and meals at the lodge can be has with a selection of delicious wines from the underground cellar.
The main activity at the lodge is a Sossusvlei excursion and other game, scenic and sundowner drives. There are also guided bird and plant tours.
