The Motor Vehicle Accident Fund of Namibia is statutorily mandated to design, promote and implement crash and injury prevention measures. In accordance with the MVA Fund Act No. 10 of 2007, it provides assistance and benefits to all people injured and the dependents of those killed in road crashes. The Act obligesMVA to carry out its mandate to contribute toward national crash and injury prevention programmes. The fund’s strategic plan of 2014-2019 is pegged on four key focus areas; i.e. service performance; human resources development; effective internal processes; and financial performance. MVA's source of income is derived from the fuel levy through the Ministry of Mines and Energy.
