As you are driving towards Kalahari Game Lodge, with the sun setting in your rear view mirror, and the dust still in the air after a long day of game watching and exploring the area – you will realise this is a very special and unique place, that will offer you its full potential if you are willing to open yourself to it.

Kalahari Game Lodge arises over the last dunes, adjacent to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. The Lodge conforms aesthetically well to the surrounding landscape as if part of the Kalahari itself. Similarly, the furnishings, decor, and trimmings are indicative of a true Kalahari oasis.

As you enter the Lodge, you will melt into its relaxing atmosphere where you can enjoy ice cold refreshments on arrival and sit down to a delicious meal at the Restaurant, surprising you with fresh ingredients and satisfying meals amidst the harsh and hot environment.

Location:

Kalahari Game Lodge is situated in Namibia in the Northern side of the Kalahari, bordering on the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, west of Mata-Mata. It covers approximately 40 000 ha GPS Co-ordinates: S 25° 38' 34.0", E 19 °51' 38.6".

The Lodge

Arriving at the The Kalahari Game Lodge you can choose between six camp sites or staying in one of eight beautiful chalets. Each chalet is equipped with a small kitchenette that includes tea and coffee making facilities, small bar fridge and wash basin, as well as en-suite bathroom, aircon and a ceiling fan. Each Chalet also has a patio where you can enjoy your morning coffee as the sun rises over the Kalahari dunes.

The chalets are furnished with three-quarter twin beds, covered in crisp white linen bedding. The chalets are open and spacious, providing you with the wonderful comforts of luxury living. The design of the rooms and Lodge allows for the natural circulation of air to maintain comfortable temperatures in the hot summers and creates an inviting atmosphere in the chalets.

For those preferring a self-braai option two chalet units each share an outside boma area which provides you with the options of enjoying your dinner under the stars or you could just sit around your own fire relaxing in the cooler evening air.(own utensils required as chalets are not self-catering)

The Camp sites are spaciously set apart under shady trees next to the dry Auob riverbed and each has its own roof covered structure with braai, toilet, shower and washing up area. Light provided by solar power (own additional lighting advised) and hot water by wood-fired donkey boiler. There is no electricity at the camp sites. Guests are welcome to charge any electronic devices at the lodge.

The Restaurant at Kalahari Game Lodge offers sumptuous breakfasts that are included in the chalet accommodation price. Pre-bookings are required at the restaurant for lunch and dinner. Please advise any dietary requirements with your booking so that we can ensure that we cater for everybody's needs.
