PROCUREMENT & PROPERTIES DIVISION
PROPERTY ADMINISTRATOR (PATERSON B4)

Primary purpose of the job:
The Property Administrator role in the Property & Procurement Division is responsible for coordination and administration of
lease agreements, building maintenance and repair, and assisting with the development of property records and databases
within the Property & Procurement Division.
Job requirements
• 3 year Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Property Management, Building Management, Facilities Management, or equivalent
qualification
• A Real Estate Certificate will be an added advantage
• 3 years’ experience in relevant field with a proven track record in property administration.
• A valid Code B Driver’s License will be an added advantage
Key performance areas
• Administration control of renting processes, of all office accommodation and Commission Lease Agreements across the
country
• Administration of Building Maintenance
• Support Services for Property and Building related matters
• Customer Care
Competencies
• Able to communicate well, verbally and in writing
• Minute writing skills for meetings with tenants
• Able to build and maintain constructive working relationships
• Interest in the property market and its trends
• Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills
• Knowledge of MS Office, Word and Excel



HANDYMAN (PATERSON B3)

Primary purpose of the job:
The Handyman role in the Procurement & Properties Division is responsible for providing an efficient and effective general
maintenance and caretaking support service to the Head Quarters of the Social Security Commission (SSC), to ensure the
security and general appearance of the buildings and surrounding areas are maintained in accordance with the required SSC
standards and national legislation.
Job requirements:
• Grade 12. A relevant Vocational Certificate level 3 (N3) or equivalent technical qualification.
• A relevant Vocational Higher Certificate will be an advantaged
• 4 years relevant experience in general maintenance tasks. Practical exposure in basic handyman maintenance tasks such
as minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and tiling.
• A valid 2 year driver’s license (BE) will be an added advantage.
Key performance areas:
• General maintenance services inside and outside the building
• Caretaking support to the SSC Headquarters including ensuring the security and general appearance of the building and
surrounding areas are maintained
• Assist with the ordering of supplies, tools and equipment
• Customer Care
Competencies:
• Able to communicate well, verbally and in writing
• Able to make minor decisions related to upkeep and maintenance of the building
• Broad technical knowledge with a strong focus on work standards, safety standards and customer relationship management
• Safe and professional use of appropriate hand and power tools
• Able to work under pressure
