SPONSORSHIP SECRETARY
DUTY STATION: WINDHOEK VILLAGE
PURPOSE:The Secretary reports to the Village Administrator and is
the main point of contact with all staff visitors, sponsors and
donors within the national association. The person will be
a functional support in guiding the programme location and
follow up on them as well as alignment the vision, mission,
values and core business of SOS which is “THE CHILD”
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:• Applicants should hold a Secretarial Diploma.
• 2 - 3 years of experience in Administrative and Secretarial
work,
• Has excellent written and spoken English
• Passionate about childcare and protection
• Should be computer literate (Windows, Word and Excel),
• Thinks and acts in a strategic way and open to innovation
and change.
• Must have a driver’s license
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:• Arrange or co-ordinate functions as required.
• Scheduling appointments and arranging meetings,
keeping diaries and maintaining filing system.
• Operate the switchboard, making outgoing and receiving
incoming calls.
• Receive all visitors to the Village and ensure that they
receive any assistance.
• Maintaining database for different functions within the
National Association,
• Secretarial assistance, including the minutes and
administration of meetings.
• Support recruitment and induction of new staff
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR
DUTY STATION: NATIONAL OFFICE - WINDHOEK
PURPOSE:The Youth Development Coordinator reports to the National
Programme Development Coordinator and is the key
point of contact for all Child Money Gift Programme, Youth
Development Programme and Youth Career Development
for the Children at all facilities. This is a labour intensive job
which requires agility, thoroughness and dedication as well as
aligning the vision, mission, values and core business of SOS
which is “THE CHILD”.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:• Degree in Youth Development or Community Development.
• Driver’ License
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong administration, organizational and planning skills
• Has excellent computer literacy (Microsoft office)
• Three (3) years’ work experience in a relevant field
• Able to function well as part of a team
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:• Screen the list of Children’s Money Gifts per Village.
• Maintaining Children Money Gift database for different
facilities within the National Association.
• Assist in tracing former SOS Children with money gifts.
• Data management and recordkeeping.
• Support the implementation of Youth Development
Programme Plan.
• Submit monthly activity report to the supervisor.
• Support Youth in Career Development at all facilities.
FUNDRAISING COORDINATOR
NATIONAL OFFICE - WINDHOEK
PURPOSE:The Fundraising Coordinator reports to the National Director
and is responsible for development, strategy, administration
and logistics of all aspects of local fundraising. This
includes Project Management, Marketing, Donor Relations,
Partnership Recruitment, Management and Retention. He /
she leads the National Fund Development committee and
ensures compliance with all government regulations as well
as maintaining alignment with the mission, vision, values and
core business of SOS which is “THE CHILD”.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:• Degree / Diploma in Media / Communication / Marketing or
Public Relations.
• Driver’ License
• Excellent writing, communication, creative thinking and
computer skills
• Experience in building donor relations with potential and
existing funders.
• Proven ability to interact with people on various levels with
exceptional interpersonal skills.
• 3 - 5 years’ work experience, with a proven tach record.
• Experience in fund proposal writing and progress reports.
• Able to function well as part of a team
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:• Coordinate and support the fundraising activities at
National and facilities level
• Build fundraising capacity within the association, and
ensure implementation of sustainability strategies within
the NA
• Research for potential donor companies and organizations
that can be approached for in - kind donations and
sponsorship
• Develop and maintain relations with local media and utilise
them according to the organization fund development
strategy.
• Prepare funding proposals and forward to relevant
companies and ensure appropriate and timely follow up of
proposals.
• Work with the Village Administrators to ensure the proper
handling of in-kind donations and coordinate fundraising at
location level
DRIVER / HANDYMAN
DUTY STATION: WINDHOEK VILLAGE
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:• Grade 12 Certificate
• Driver’ License (PDP)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Five (5) years’ work experience in a relevant field.
• Willing to travel locally.
• Knowledge on working with children.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:• Fulfil the transport needs of the SOS Children’s Village.
• Ensure the safety of the Village Children.
• Maintain the Safety & Security of the Village Vehicle Fleet
• Act as a Role Model for Village Children.
• General Maintenance e.g. Plumbing and Basic Electrical
• Plan ahead for regular maintenance needs such as
painting and varnishing.
• Refer maintenance tasks beyond capability to outside
firms and supervise the execution of these tasks.
