PUBLIC HEALTH SPECIALIST – HIV/AIDS PREVENTION (NAM-2017-17)
The
incumbent of this position is the key public health advisor on prevention to
the HIV/AIDS Team
Lead
within the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The position is
responsible for the design,
implementation,
coordination, and evaluation of a broad range of agency-funded HIV prevention
program
activities
and studies required to implement the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS
Relief (PEPFAR)
in
Namibia. Jobholder is the U.S. Government HIV/AIDS prevention program public
health advisor to the
host
country ministries (including the Ministries of Health and Social Services),
partners, including those
funded
by the host government or the Global Fund and non-governmental organizations
(NGOs) in the
implementation
of Prevention program activities and studies.
INFORMATION ASSISTANT (NAM-2017-18)
Under
supervision of the Public Affairs Officer, the incumbent will serve as the main
point of contact for the
Embassy’s
media engagement. Drafts a variety of media outreach and information products,
including
press
releases, media advisories, and fact sheets. Arranges press conferences, photo
opportunities,
interviews,
and other media events for officials and visitors related to the Embassy.
Establishes and
maintains
personal contact with all members of the media – television, radio, print, and
online outlets
– as
well as Namibian government contacts and non-government organizations,
specifically public
relations
officers. Acts as Web Content Editor for the main mission home page and the
public affairs
pages,
and searches for and recommends new content to the Public Affairs Officer.
Contributes content
to
Embassy’s social media accounts. Produces daily media highlight summaries,
analyzes trends in the
media
climate, and reports on media placements.
TRUCK DRIVER / TRADES HELPER (NAM-2017-19)
The
incumbent will serve as a Truck Driver operating heavy duty water truck for the
procurement and
delivery
of water to official USG properties, owned and leased residential and
non-residential. He/
she will
drive the fuel truck to refill the generators located at all USG owned and
leased properties.
Serves
as Trades Helper within the Facilities Section when not driving. The incumbent
will be under the
supervision
of the Maintenance Supervisor.
