On behalf of Ongopolo Mining Limited (Reg. No. 325/SWA), a 97.5%-owned subsidiary of Weatherly Mining Namibia

Weatherly Mining Namibia operates the Tschudi open pit mine, heap leach and SX-EW processing facility in the Tsumeb area.
Applicants are invited to apply for a Mechanical Engineer Graduate position, which reports within the Engineering Department.
The appointed candidate will be expected to work on the Tschudi Mine Site, located ±20 km west of Tsumeb.

VACANCY: MECHANICAL ENGINEER GRADUATE

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• B-Tech or Mechanical Engineering degree.
• 3 years’ working experience in a mining or industrial plant environment
• Computer literate with emphasis on MS Access and MS SQL.
• Knowledge of CAD modelling systems.
• Knowledge of engineering maintenance systems.
• Understanding and knowledge of Risk Management Systems.
• Be in possession of a valid code 08 or (BE) driver's license.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Ensure all employees under his/her responsibility comply with the set safety standards and legal regulations
• Conduct PTOs to ensure tasks are being done according to RA and SWP.
• Audit of all statuary log books.
• Assist Planner by review and improvement of maintenance models for plant equipment
• Assist Planner by loading equipment spares into the MMS
• Assist planner by monitoring critical spares and consumables are available.
• Compile equipment spares and consumable specifications
• Improve condition monitoring.
• Ensure that drawings, specifications and schedules are revised to reflect current status
• Update the drawings, specification and acid registers.
• Compile engineering drawings (mechanical, piping and plate work)
• Identify maintenance improvement areas and initiate projects.
