Hospitality Manager
Description


The Hospitality Manager is responsible for all frontof-
house and guest-facing interaction on Ongava
Game Reserve. The primary responsibility of this
position will be to manage guest experience and
ensure that guest expectations are consistently exceeded
in all four of the Ongava Camps/Lodges.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are
not limited to the following:
• Ensure and provide flawless, upscale, professional
and high class guest service experiences
• Day to day front of house management of all
areas for all four Ongava camps
• Supervise and manage the Camp Management
teams in the four respective camps
• Supervise and manage the Food & Beverage
Manager and Training Co-ordinator with daily
duties as well as long to medium term planning
• Liaise closely with the Guide Manager with regards
to activity needs and areas of improvement
• Identify areas where staff training is needed and
assist with suitable training solutions
• Continue to implement and maintain Lodge and
Company standards both front of house and back
of house
• Deal with guest complaints directly in Lodges
and ensure suitable corrections have been
implemented
• Analyze customer feedback and provide strategic
direction to continuously improve overall
rating
• Arrange and manage special events
• Responsible for budgets and financial reporting
Conduct comprehensive research/ data assembly
as required
• Maintaining a good relationship with all suppliers
and employees

Applicants need to:
• Must be Namibian Citizen/Permanent Residence
or be in possession of valid work permit
• Have a valid driver’s license and PDP
• Must be fluent in English (multilingualism will be
considered an asset)
• Excellent word processing and computer skills,
including knowledge of a range of software
packages
• Have excellent administration and organisational
skills
• Have at least 5 years’ experience of senior management
in the tourism and hospitality industry,
preferably in a 5-star property
• Relevant tertiary education
• Experience with needs assessment techniques,
quality standards and satisfaction evaluation
techniques
• Should have previous experience training staff
• Be willing to work long, flexible hours, unsupervised
and under pressure
• Have excellent communication skills and the
ability to manage staff and guest relations
• Highly responsible and reliable with a professional
presentation
• Familiarity with industry’s latest trends
• Have ability to pay meticulous attention to detail
• Knowledge of personalized services principles
and processes

Interior Design Standards Coordinator
The position is based on Ongava Game Reserve.
The responsibilities of this position include but are
not limited to the following:

• Liaise with Hospitality Standards Manager (SM)
• Implement and maintain hospitality standards in
all four of the Ongava properties
• Maintain and update all standards documents
• Identify areas of improvement and implementation
thereof at Camps/Lodges
• Creatively investigate options for improvements
in Standards and procurement of new products
• Create and manage database to track orders and
issued items
• Coordinate with Camp/Lodge managers with
regards to Standards implementations
• Conduct inspections at Camps when required
and compile comprehensive reports and feedback
to SM
• Responsible for obtaining quotes, financial
reviews of quotes and investigation of quotes
for SM
• Liaise with Procurement and Operations departments
with regards to orders
• Conducting research/data assembly as requested
by SM
• Responsible for budgets and financial reporting
to SM
• Maintaining a good relationship with all suppliers
and employees

Executive Personal Assistant
The position is based on Ongava Game Reserve.
The responsibilities of this position include but are
not limited to the following:

• Perform all administration and clerical duties for
Senior Manager as required
• Developing and maintaining office systems,
including data management and filing
• Producing documents, briefing papers, reports
and presentations
• Organising and attending meetings and ensuring
the manager is well prepared for meetings
• Liaising with clients, suppliers and other staff
• Carrying out specific projects and research for
manager and presenting findings cohesively
• Responsibility for accounts and budgets and
reporting thereof
• Assisting senior management with day to day
duties, deputising for the manager, making
decisions and delegating work to others in the
manager’s absence
• Proactive, daily complex management for multiple
diaries and itinerary coordination
• Extensive awareness of previous and continuous
projects with clients and contacts
• Run errands to lodges and town
• Handling of stock arriving and issuing of items/
stock/orders
• Entering of data and producing relevant statistics
and all record keeping

Group Guide Manager
The position is based on Ongava Game Reserve.
The responsibilities of this position include but are
not limited to the following:

• Day to day management of the Ongava guiding
team
• Managing the guided guest experience on Ongava
Game Reserve
• Facilitating guide training
• Maintaining the guiding standard at Ongava
• Identify areas for improvement and offer a suitable
strategy for these improvements
• Assist with the implementation and maintenance
of guiding safety standards and protocol
• Hosting guests and ensuring guest satisfaction
• Maintaining good staff relations

Applicants need to:
• Must be Namibian Citizen/Permanent Residence
or in possession of a valid work permit
• Have a valid driver’s license and PDP
• Have a valid First Aid certificate
• Must be fluent in English (multilingualism will be
considered an asset)
• Have NATH level 4 or equivalent other qualifications
• Have at least 5 years’ experience of guiding in Big
5 environment and 5 Star establishment
• Advanced Rifle/Weapons Handling Certification/
experience (demonstrable) would be an
advantage
• FGASA/AFGA field guiding qualifications would
be an advantage
• Should have at least 2 years’ experience in working
a management position

Group Food and Beverage Manager
The position is based on Ongava Game Reserve.
The responsibilities of this position include but are
not limited to the following:

• Procurement for all Food and Beverage related
aspects across the Ongava Group
• Day to day management of all F&B operations in
all four lodges/camps and events
• Improving dining experience, both at the lodges/
camps
• Improving and implementing of new menus &
recipes
• Compose recipe book and photographic standards
• Management of all weekly orders
• Implement and supervise strict stock control
measures in all kitchens and storerooms
• Maintaining of health and safety standards in
kitchen and front of house
• Supervision of chefs, kitchen staff and waiters
• Budgets and expense control and comprehensive
reporting thereof
• Hosting guests and ensuring guest requirements
in regard to food are met at all times
• Maintaining a good relationship with all suppliers
and employees
• Implementing and maintaining all company
standards

Applicants need to:
• Must be Namibian Citizen/Permanent Residence
or be in possession of a valid work permit

• Must be fluent in English (multilingualism will be

• Previous chef experience is essential for this
position

Group Training Supervisor
The position is based on Ongava Game Reserve. The
responsibilities of this position include but are not
limited to the following:

• Actively requires leading by example involving staff
training insitu
• Responsible for the company training platform for
all departments
• Assist and implement theoretical and practical
assessments
• Actively advance all staff members through all
levels of training
• Actively ensure that service training is exhibited by
all staff members
• Continual monitoring of implementation of training
and service delivery by all staff members
• Responsible for fostering staff involvement and
eagerness in training platform
• Identify areas of improvement and training needs
at Camps/Lodges
• Liaise with Hospitality Standards Manager & Camp
Managers
• Maintaining a good relationship with all suppliers
and employees
• Responsible for providing cohesive reporting on
training platform
• Responsible for basic financial reporting
