B2Gold Namibia (Pty) Ltd. Is a 90% owned subsidiary of B2Gold Corp. B2Gold Namibia’s
portfolio includes the Otjikoto Mine in north central Namibia as well as extensive base metal
concessions in northern Namibia. Otjikoto’s construction was completed in 2014, and the first
gold poured in December 2014 with 2015 being its first full year of production.

ENGINEERING GEOLOGIST

General Scope of Duty
The incumbent is responsible for collecting, interpreting and monitoring the geotechnical data to
optimize and ensure the safety of mining operations.

Location and reporting structure
This position will be based at the Otjikoto Mine and will report directly to the Geotechnical Engineer.

Duties and Responsibilities
▪ Collect geological and geotechnical data through mapping
▪ Interpret the geotechnical data to produce mine design parameters
▪ Monitor pit slope stability and ensure sufficient coverage
▪ Manage geotechnical drilling programs and logging of core for geotechnical information
and liaise with laboratories for geotechnical test work
▪ Assist to design open pit mine development
▪ Assist with short term and long-term mine planning activities
▪ Advice mining personnel with regards to geological hazards
▪ Prepare daily, monthly and yearly production reports as necessary
▪ Maintain constructive and effective working relationships with B2Gold employees,
contractors and consultants
▪ Perform other duties as required in support of Company objectives
▪ Ensure compliance to all B2Gold Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures

Competencies and Requirements
▪ Must have a Grade 12 and BSc Degree in Geology, Geologic Engineering or equivalent
▪ At least 2 years’ relevant experience in the discipline
▪ Proficient in geotechnical software (Dips, Swedge)
▪ Capable of utilizing latest computer and software technologies such as Microsoft Office
products, CAD software and mining programs (preferably Minesight)
▪ Showcase supervisory experience with both technical and non-technical personnel
▪ Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
