QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Recognised Trade Diploma as a Qualified Auto Electrician
  • 3 Years applicable maintenance experience within a heavy industry / production / mining environment
  • Experience working on both Caterpillar and Atlas Copco (Epiroc) mining equipment
  • Experience working on air-conditioning systems
  • Code B Drivers Licence
  • Computer Literate
  • Proficiency in English or Afrikaans
  • This specific position requires that the applicant be able to work shifts, overtime and standby
  • Fitness for duty certificate will be required
  • Earthmoving hydraulic systems experience will be advantageous
  • Experience working on remote controlled LHD’s will be advantageous

KEY JOB PERFORMANCE AREAS
  • Underground and surface maintenance, repairs on starters, alternators
  • and wiring of vehicles and earthmoving equipment
  • Ensuring optimal vehicle and earthmoving equipment performance
  • Auto electrical faultfinding, troubleshooting and repairs
  • Assisting with adhoc duties as requested by supervisor or Head of Department
  • Adherence to all health and safety practices
  • Promotion of a high housekeeping standard on an ongoing basis

Effective communication skills (including radio procedures)
Ability to work independently and in a team
Able to work under pressure
Continuous improvement as a way of life
Base Metal exposure will be an added advantage for this position.
