ADVANCE LIFE SUPPORT (ALS) PARAMEDIC
Introduction
The purpose of this position is to ensure Advanced Life Support to the critically ill or
injured person and to ensure emergency medical and rescue support on site, at a level of
appropriate knowledge, skill and expertise.
Location and reporting structure
The position will be based at the Otjikoto Gold Mine and will report directly to the Emergency
Response Coordinator.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance to all B2Gold Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedure
• Maintain a safe working practice and housekeeping at all times
• Evaluate, treat and referral of patients
• Assist at an emergency scene when required
• Perform weekly, monthly, and quarterly inspections and reports
• Keep accurate and comprehensive medical records
• Ensure department equipment and vehicles are kept clean and maintained in a state of
permanent readiness at all times
• Actively participate within the department to support occupational health, wellness,
occupational/industrial hygiene and emergency management services
• Assist in the development and deployment of formal and informal training programs
with regards to the department. Such programs shall be within your scope of practice,
qualifications, skill, experience and expertise
• Maintain CPD points to maintain professional registration
• Execute other duties as required by the department
• Identify, differentiate and deal with a basic scene compared to a critical scene (medical
or any other emergency)
Competencies and Requirements:
• Grade 12
• National Diploma or B-Tech in Emergency Medical Care and Rescue
• 3 - 5 years operational experience
• Experience on remote sites (mining industry) will be an added advantage
• Proficiency in written and spoken English
• Computer literacy (MS Office or similar suite)
• Ability to function both individually and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Ability to work under pressure in adverse circumstances and environments
• Current registration with the Allied Health Professions Council of Namibia
• Valid code C1 driver’s licence
• Current public drivers permit licence (PDP)

STANDARDS OFFICER
Introduction
The Standards Officer is responsible for building and maintaining an accurate and quality
stock catalogue, participating in supplier evaluations, managing vendor non-conformance/
chargebacks and providing technical support to the supply chain group.
Location and reporting structure
This position will be based at the Otjikoto Gold Mine and will report directly to the Supply
Chain Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Develop cataloguing policies, procedures and standards to ensure item data can serve
all integrated management system (IMS) including Maintenance, Finance, Purchasing,
Inventory Control and Warehousing with a comprehensive, structured description
• Work with End Users, Contracts Management, Warehouse, Logistics and Purchasing
to develop and define a rotable spares program to track movement, cost (repair and
return), and inventory management for rotable spares throughout their life cycles
• Work with Inventory Control and Maintenance Departments to ensure appropriate
Inventory Management parameters (ROP/ROQ) are defined for each catalogued spare
part based on maintenance criticality, required service level, supplier lead time and
required transit time
• Develop processes and procedures to manage metal scrap and salvage material to
ensure discarded metal on site is routed through the appropriate waste stream
• Initiate and manage technical and/or non-compliance concerns, quality issues and
warranty claims to provide sufficient technical detail to drive and resolve these issues
• Ensure compliance to all B2Gold Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures
Competencies and Requirements:
• NQF 6 and a Trade Diploma
• At least 5 years post apprentice experience at an industrial processing plant with
excellent knowledge of technical requirements for different pieces of equipment
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Standards/Cataloguing Officer in a high stock keeping
unit (SKU) industrial warehouse
• Hazardous material (HAZMAT) and Dangerous goods training will be an advantageous
